The first vending machines on Polish railways with a touchscreen user interface

LEDATEL delivers 50 sets of vending machines to a rolling stock manufacturer modernizing COMBO wagons for a Polish rail carrier. These are the first machines in Poland with a user-friendly product selection interface on color touch screens.

Each set consists of one hot drink machine and one snack and cold drink machine. The machines are certified to comply with the EN 50155:2021, EN 45545-2:2020, EN 61373:2010/AC:2017 and EN 50121-3-2:2016/A1:2019 standards.

Hot drinks vending machine HS7

The vending machine for hot drinks has two coffee bean grinders allowing the use of two different beans or mixtures. Additionally, it is equipped with 6 containers for sugar and instant products, such as: cocoa, milk, instant coffee, tea, borscht or broth. The cup container allows the use of two sizes of cups. The machine has a 25-litre water tank, and the cup container can hold up to 750 cups.

The distinguishing element of the machines supplied by LEDATEL is the passenger-friendly user interface displaying available products on an 18.5-inch colour touch screen. Additionally, the screen has the function of displaying the image only in its lower half, which allows full use of the machine for passengers in wheelchairs. In addition, the interface has the ability to switch between Polish, English and German, which will make it easier for foreigners to use the machines.

The machine is equipped with a NAYAX card reader enabling contactless cashless payment.

Snack and cold drink vending machine ST6

The vending machine for snacks and cold drinks has six shelves that allow for the service of 3 to 6 products. It has a wide range of temperature settings inside the machine (2÷18°C). This allows for the sale of not only dry snacks and drinks, but also fresh products with a short expiry date. It can hold a maximum of 42 different types of products.

The distinguishing element of the machines supplied by LEDATEL is the passenger-friendly user interface that allows for the selection of a product on a 7-inch color touch screen. In addition, the interface has the ability to switch between Polish, English and German, which will make it easier for foreigners to use the machines.

The machine is equipped with a NAYAX card reader enabling contactless cashless payment.

Modern machines not only in Poland

The devices are already in use in the first few vehicles manufactured by Talgo for the Danish carrier DSB, and the next ones are being installed in the vehicles of the Austrian ÖBB manufactured by Siemens and the Croatian Hrvatske željeznice, for the production of which KONČAR Group is responsible.
